Netty is an innovative application designed to help users monitor and manage their alcohol consumption. It aims to promote responsible drinking habits by providing tools and insights that enhance user awareness and safety during social events.
📌 Project Overview
In December 2020, I embarked on the development of Netty, an iOS application addressing common concerns related to alcohol consumption, such as determining one's fitness to drive after drinking and ensuring personal safety during late-night outings.
🎯 Objectives
Responsibility: Empower users to make informed decisions about their alcohol intake.
Awareness: Increase consciousness about the effects of alcohol on the body.
Safety: Provide features that enhance user security during nightlife activities.
👤 Role
Product Designer: Led the project from ideation through to prototyping, encompassing user research, branding, and interface design.
🛠 Process & Methodology
1️⃣ Ideation
Problem Identification: Recognized the need for a tool to assist users in assessing their sobriety and ensuring safety after consuming alcohol.
Solution Conceptualization: Envisioned an app that offers real-time tracking of alcohol consumption, personalized feedback, and safety recommendations.
2️⃣ User Flow Development
Mapping the Experience: Created detailed user flows to outline the app's functionality and user interactions.
3️⃣ Design & Branding
Visual Identity: Developed a friendly and approachable brand persona to resonate with users aged 18-25.
Color Scheme: Chose a vibrant green palette to symbolize health and responsibility, complemented by a dark theme suitable for nighttime use.
Logo Design: Crafted a logo featuring a droplet creating ripples, symbolizing the impact of responsible drinking.
4️⃣ Wireframing & Prototyping
Low-Fidelity Wireframes: Sketched initial layouts to establish the app's structure.
High-Fidelity Designs: Designed detailed screens adhering to a 4-column grid and 8px spacing for consistency.
Interactive Prototype: Built a clickable prototype to simulate user interactions and gather feedback.
🚀 Outcome
Comprehensive Prototype: Delivered a fully interactive prototype demonstrating the app's capabilities.
User-Centric Design: Established a foundation for an application that encourages responsible alcohol consumption and enhances user safety.
💡 Key Learnings
User Empathy: Gained insights into the challenges users face regarding alcohol consumption and safety.
Design Consistency: Emphasized the importance of a cohesive visual language to build trust and engagement.
Iterative Development: Recognized the value of prototyping and user feedback in refining the product.
